23 embassies and multinational companies to honor Sokoto trade fair – The Sun Nigeria

Sokoto State will host the 11th edition of the National Trade Fair and Exhibitions scheduled for March 10, 2020.

Sokoto State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (SOCCIMA) President Alhaji Muazu Bello Maiwurno revealed this during a briefing to reporters on Wednesday.

He said the edition labeled “Sokoto 2020”, with the theme: “Revitalization of the mining sectors of agricultural and social networks as key to the economic diversification of Sokoto State and the nation”, is scheduled for February 10. until March 24, 2020.

Maiwurno noted that the theme is in line with the federal government’s current economic program on the overall diversification of the country’s economy.

He further revealed that 23 foreign embassies and no less than 300 multinational companies across the country have been invited to participate in the trade exhibition.

Speaking on the gains from the exhibition, Maiwurno said she would promote and encourage the development of industrial inputs as well as accelerate the development of commerce and industry in the state.

The president added that the exhibition also aims to provide access to research results, new technologies and ideas for updating by industrialists and policy makers through B2B interactions, among other benefits.

Maiwurno informed that preparations for the successful hosting of the exhibition have reached an advanced stage.

He has also listed Cement Company of Northern Nigeria, Dangote Group, Sahara Bakers Eatery and Confectionaries, Rima Foam: AGG Mall, Fodio Mall, Yusha’u Abdullahi Furniture Factory, Alkanci Furniture and Sokoto Rima Basin among many national and multinational companies invited for product exhibition.

The president, however, praised the state’s governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal for his financial and moral support, as well as the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar for what he described as his fatherly support.

He noted that the exhibition’s standing organizing committee is currently working tirelessly with experienced consultants to ensure the most organized, innovative and successful trade fair in the history of the state.
