Anuga 2021 food and beverage trade show almost sold out
The international food industry event, Anuga, reported positive registration numbers ahead of the launch of its hybrid format.
For the first time, the event will be held digitally as well as in Cologne, Germany, October 9-13 this year.
Organizers of the Koelnmesse event said that after the pre-registration phase expired, the food and beverage fair has already registered a similar number of bookings to the previous event.
Of the 10 trade fairs available at the Anuga event, eight were sold out.
“More applications have been received currently than can accommodate within the available space,” Koelnmesse said in a statement.
In total, exhibitors from 83 countries have registered so far.
This year’s additional element, Anuga @ home, ensures that international industry participants – exhibitors, trade visitors and trade press – can exchange ideas digitally through the newly developed platform.
This is in response to the coronavirus pandemic, which has forced other industry events to cancel due to travel restrictions and health concerns.
Anuga director Stefanie Mauritz said the current vaccination coverage also gives confidence that Anuga will take place in physical form in 2021.
“Naturally, we will continue to anticipate all eventualities and plan the salon in corona conditions using our health and safety concepts,” she said.
