Asean M&E 2022 expected to generate trade deals worth RM220 million

KUALA LUMPUR: The 10th Southeast Asia Mechanical, Electrical Engineering and Power Trade Show 2022 (Asean M&E 2022) is expected to generate RM220 million in business transactions.

The event will focus on industrial energy transition, decarbonization as well as renewal and clean energy.

Its organizer, Informa Markets Malaysia Sdn Bhd, said the figure was double that of the last edition in 2019, which generated RM110 million.

Event co-chair Gen (Rtd) Tan Sri Mohd Azumi Mohamed said the event will feature 150 exhibitors from more than 11 countries.

“Visitors can expect to meet exhibitors from many countries like Germany, Ireland, Sweden, Japan, Pakistan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, etc.

“The future of the engineering, energy, heating, ventilation and air conditioning industries is exciting.

“After the pandemic, companies have stepped up their innovation efforts in line with global megatrends,” he said at a press conference for Asean M&E 2022 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center on Oct. 17.

Mohd Azumi also said that the event will also feature four major international pavilions from Singapore, India, China and Turkey.

The event will also showcase next-generation technologies, including electric vehicles (EVs) and related products such as charging stations, as part of the expo’s efforts to further boost the region’s energy transition ambitions. .

“With Southeast Asia committed to reducing its carbon footprint and countries in the region adopting laws and policies to combat climate change, Asean has become an important market for EV technologies.

“Malaysia, in particular, is in the top three at the top of net zero targets among its Asean peers.

“Asean M&E 2022 is designed to capitalize on this huge market potential,” Informa said in a separate statement.

The three-day event also includes conferences, seminars, business matchmaking sessions and discussions that will allow professionals to discuss and share the latest innovative solutions, products and services.

This year, the organizer is expecting 10,000 visitors from 60 countries for an event open to the public and industry.

Admission is free for the three-day event from November 7-9, 2022 at the Kuala Lumpur Exhibition Centre.

Also held at the same location is Southeast Asia’s premier energy expo (Tenaga Energy), which is a trade show dedicated to the energy, power and utility industry, and the Southeast Asia’s first Refrigeration, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (REVAC) exhibition.

Among the names that have confirmed their participation are Tenaga Nasional Bhd, Ray Go Solar, Assign Group, Daikin Malaysia, Mitsubishi Electric, American Air Filter, Japan Air Filter Malaysia, Mayair and Haier Electric.

The Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) and the Energy Commission will also participate in the event. – Bernama
