Catering Insight – The Spanish trade fair signs an agreement to promote the hospitality industry

The Hostelco Catering Equipment Fair has partnered with the Spanish Confederation of Catering Companies (CEHE) / Hostelería de España, with the aim of promoting the hotel and catering industry, stimulating trade sales representatives in the “Horeca” channel and contribute to the promotion of vocational training in the sector.

The agreement was signed by the general manager of the Fira de Barcelona (hostel to the Hostelco), Constantí Serrallonga, and the president of the Hostelería de España, José Luis Yzuel. The objective is to contribute to the recovery and reactivation of the sector, by actively collaborating in the development of initiatives focused on the promotion of the hotel and restaurant industry, in particular during the event of 4 to April 7 next year, which will once again bring the industry together at the Gran Via exhibition center.

Through this agreement, Hostelco will allow students of CEHE’s online training channel “Campus Hostelería” to access its facilities. The program specializes in preparing hospitality professionals, with the aim of increasing their learning and networking opportunities through direct contact with the main companies of the “Horeca” channel. At the same time, Hostelería de España will facilitate access to its Horeca Market e-commerce platform for exhibitors and visitors to Hostelco interested in this commercial exchange channel.

CEHE President José Luis Yzuel said: “We are convinced that the sector can start on the road to recovery, of which the celebration of a new edition of Hostelco is a great marker. The reactivation of the hotel and catering industry must go through training and professionalization, as well as digitalization, all elements of the agreement with the leading trade fair platform in the sector.

Hostelco, organized by the Fira de Barcelona and the Spanish Federation of Associations of Manufacturers of Equipment for Hotels, Communities and Allied Industries (FELAC), will be held from April 4 to 7, 2022 at the Fira de Barcelona site. Gran Via next to the Restaurama lounge. The events will bring together more than 4,500 exhibiting companies occupying 100,000 meters2 net exhibition space. They are also preparing new content aimed at strengthening their corporate character and contributing to the reactivation of their respective sectors.
