Connecticut Manufacturing Day Trade Show, Job Fair and Maker Faire on October 7

Bridgeport, CT – Friday, October 7, 2022 is National Manufacturing Day, and Connecticut is celebrating makers big and small with an exciting, free event open to anyone pursuing a career in modern manufacturing.

Forthcoming Connecticut Manufacturing Day at Housatonic Community College (HCC) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to meet innovative manufacturing employers, learn about cutting-edge manufacturing careers, walk through a MakerFaire®, and explore HCC’s inspiring on-campus manufacturing facility. Refreshments will be provided, including a pizza truck lunch.

Manufacturers are struggling to fill well-paying high-tech jobs as the industry grows. By 2025, it is estimated that US manufacturers will have 2 million jobs available due to a skills gap.

“We are actively looking for new professionals to join the team,” said Nicole Russo, CEO of Microboard, a manufacturing company participating in the event.

Tours of the HCC’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center will be offered. The program places graduates in the fields of aerospace, underwater, and biomedical technology, to name a few. “Almost all students who take our program will land a job,” said Professor Adam Scobie of HCC.

Visit www.ctmakesit.com/expo to register for the free event, which will be held at the HCC Events Center, located at 900 Lafayette Blvd. in Bridgeport, Connecticut. A free parking is available.

Connecticut Manufacturing Day is presented by the City of Bridgeport, Entrepreneurship Foundation, Housatonic Community College, Housatonic Community College Werth Center For Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Southwest CT Manufacturing Partnership, and Bridgeport Regional Business Council.
