Fairtrade organizes the 7th Agrofood & Plastprintpack show in Ghana

German trade show specialists, Fairtrade, are set to hold the 7th International Food and Plastprintpack Show in Accra, Ghana.

The show is scheduled to be held from November 29 to December 1, 2022 at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Center.

The event comes after the success of the previous 6th edition in 2019 which saw the participation of 87 exhibitors from 17 countries presenting dedicated solutions for hundreds and hundreds of professional visitors, investors and buyers from Ghana and neighboring countries of West Africa.

In a press release issued by Fairtrade, exhibitors came from Belgium, China, France, Germany, Ghana, India, Italy, Jordan, Morocco, Netherlands, Nigeria, Poland, Portugal, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tunisia and Turkey.

He said that for the agribusiness part of the show, it is indeed true that the West African market for agricultural technology is becoming increasingly important as imports of agricultural technology reach around 200 million euros per year. , while West Africa is investing heavily between €496 million in 2015 to €641 million in 2020 in agro-food technology and there are also significant prospects in the areas of food trade.

He added that with well over 420 million people, which the World Bank predicts will reach 800 million by 2050, West Africa is a huge food market and West African food imports have reached about 16 billion dollars and exports 14 billion dollars.

According to Fairtrade, West Africa invested in plastics technology for 217 million euros in 2020, in printing and paper technology for 95 million euros and in packaging technology for 309 million euros, up 3.3% compared to 2019 – constant growth even in the Corona year 2020, and according to Geovision Services Ltd., local fair trade agent, between 80 and 90 exhibitors from 15 to 20 countries are expected to attend the 7th International Agribusiness and Plastprintpack Show in Accra from 29 November to 01 December 2022 at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.
