‘Get your game face’ at the Ponoka Trade Show this week – LacombeOnline.com
Ponoka’s trade show is just around the corner and there are tons of great things to look forward to.
“We have a wide variety of suppliers. We have everyone from home renovations to nonprofits. We have our marketplace which has a whole bunch of vendors with home businesses and homemade stuff. We have the Easter Bunny coming, which we are very excited about. We have lots of activities going on and great prizes for people to win,” said Heather Bendera, Executive Director of the Ponoka Chamber of Commerce.
The last trade show the Chamber was able to hold was in 2019. Bendera says they were planning their 2020 trade show when COVID happened and it had to be abruptly canceled. The last two trade shows were held virtually, which wasn’t as efficient as going in person.
“I really hope everyone is excited to be able to come out again and come to the living room and enjoy it and enjoy being outside,” she added.
Bendera noted that one of the biggest challenges this year was for local businesses to coordinate their staff to attend. Several companies are faced with a low employment rate. That being said, this year’s show has no empty booths.
“We have Legacy Ford and they’re going to have a bunch of vehicles for everyone to look at. The vehicle market is quite hot. This is a great opportunity to come see what they have. We also have an RV dealership and we have Maddison Pearman, our own Olympian, who is going through,” Bendera explained.
This year’s theme is ‘Get Your Game Face’ anyone who attends wearing their favorite jersey will be able to access the show for free. Otherwise, admission is $10 for families, $4 for adults, $2 for seniors and youth, and anyone under two is free.
The show will take place this Friday (April 8) from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday (April 9) from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Ponoka Arena Complex.
