“HI Japan” Trade Show Promotes Sri Lankan Coconut Products

October 13, Colombo: Ambassador and mission staff participated in the stand of the “HI Japan” trade exhibition in Sri Lanka, organized and promoted by the Sri Lanka Mission in Japan and funded by the Coconut Development Authority ( CDA).

The stand showcased a wide range of coconut-related export products from 11 companies in Sri Lanka. The product line included coconut oil, virgin coconut oil, MCT oil, coconut flour, desiccated coconut, coconut chips coconut, milk, powdered milk, molasses, syrup and cream.

New products such as coconut vinegar, amino, coconut butter, sugar, coconut water and king coconut water products were introduced.

The booth received over 60 inquiries from potential Japanese buyers, with the most popular products being virgin coconut oil, coconut flour and desiccated coconut. The mission hopes to follow up on these leads and put exporters in direct contact with potential buyers through online meetings.

The mission also provides translation and transcription services as well as verification of packaging quality and compliance with Japanese regulations before shipment of samples and brochures, a service provided to all Sri Lankan exporters. .
