IAV GmbH: IAV goes digital

IAV goes digital – virtual booth at CES

IAV invites anyone interested to a virtual booth at the CES Technology Show. Due to the Corona pandemic, IAV, like many other exhibitors, canceled its on-site attendance in Las Vegas. From now on, the company is going online and presenting its Cybersecurity and CarryAir themes in the digital space, respectively Thursday and Friday at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. CET.

The virtual stand, designed by HyHyve, can be visited via this link: https://app.hyhyve.com/?spaceId=Fep8GTr6TW6ms8p08-gB_

At CES January 5-7, 2022, around 4,500 exhibitors will showcase their latest technologies and concepts for the future. “CES is one of the absolute flagship events of the year. It gives a good overview of what will be expected and in motion in the near future, in the areas of mobility, software solutions or energy management ”, says Matthias Kratzsch, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the IAV. “As a provider of technological solutions, our goal is to help shape the mobility of tomorrow using digital and automated development methods, making it more sustainable, innovative and secure.”

With the following showcases, IAV illustrates this claim:

Zonal security – Cyber defense systems

Modern vehicles contain more and more software from generation to generation and are increasingly interconnected. The software itself is also becoming more and more complex and must be secure at the same time. In order to keep the complexity manageable, IAV has developed a concept of zonal protection. Zone and Ethernet gateways provide structures that allow new approaches to protection against cyber attacks. For illustration purposes, the engineering team integrated a cyber defense system into a commercially available vehicle. Thanks to the zonal security defense mechanisms, not only the vehicle is protected as a whole, but also the individual control units and functions stored in them have their own protection mechanisms.

ACDC – Automobile Cyber Defense Center

As vehicles are increasingly interconnected with each other and with their infrastructure, it is no longer sufficient to equip individual vehicles with their own safety systems. Using an approach from a cybersecurity defense center, IAV shows what happens when a virus spreads through entire fleets of vehicles, enters a GPS cloud, or manipulates infrastructure. The defense center will detect and analyze these most frightening potential scenarios and initiate countermeasures. To this end, it continuously investigates the mentioned systems to detect anomalies.

CarryAir – Autonomous fuel cell aircraft

The autonomous body of CarryAir will be used for inspection flights and analysis of supply routes and pipelines as well as for the protection of areas of land such as the factory premises. A fuel cell powertrain guarantees considerably longer range compared to a battery-powered electric powertrain. Compared to the helicopters used to date mainly for these missions, CarryAir will be more cost effective in terms of flight execution. In addition, its fuel cell drive protects the environment
