Indian craftsmanship shines in Made in India – Trade Fair in Guatemala

The Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) in association with the Indian Mission in Guatemala (Latin America) is organizing a Made in India – Trade Show on Indian Handicrafts and other products from Indian Handicrafts Manufacturers and Exporters in the September 22-24, 2022 in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

According to the official press release, ten master artisans and domestic exporters from all parts of India showcase a wide range of handicrafts such as home decor, home furnishings, rugs, furniture, lamps, jewelry and fashion accessories, incense, aroma and wellness products.

Shri Rakesh Kumar, Executive Director, EPCH informed that HE Mr. Guillermo Castillo, Vice President of Guatemala and Acting President and HE Ambassador of India to Guatemala, Dr. Manoj Kumar Mohapatra inaugurated the Made in India Fair in Guatemala and extended their full cooperation and support to EPCH for the organization of Made in India – Trade Fair in their region reflecting the indomitable spirit of the fraternity of handicraft exporters to continue efforts to strengthen the industry. Arts and crafts.

Shri Raj Kumar Malhotra, President of EPCH, informed that this Made in India Indian Arts and Crafts Exhibition will provide a viable business option for exhibitors and buyers. It is expected that the Made in India – Indian Arts and Crafts Trade Fair in association with Indian Missions will lead to improved trade and people-to-people relations in the Latin American region.

His Excellency HE the Ambassador of India to Guatemala, Dr. Manoj Kumar Mohapatra, informed that the Made in India – Trade Show Exhibition is an opportunity to showcase the diversity of India, which the world appreciates. It will also be an opportunity to showcase India’s many skills, competitive advantage and adherence to quality standards to the world.

EPCH being a nodal agency, promotes the country’s handicraft exports to various destinations around the world and projects India’s image abroad as a reliable supplier of high quality handicraft products and services. Handicrafts exports during the year 2021-22 were Rs. 33,253.00 Crores (US$4,459.76 million) registering a growth of 29.49% in Rupees and 28.90% in Dollars compared to the previous year. However, handicraft exports to Latin America are Rs. 682 crore (USD 92 million) in 2021-22.
