POLAR presents the “Tax Label Solution” at the Malta Trade Fair

The Tax Stamps and Traceability Forum in the Malta Exhibition Hall attracts around 300 visitors from 50 countries every year. POLAR Mohr’s LabelSystems are well known due to the change in the law on the dimensions of tax labels, the LabelSystem SC-25 is particularly targeted.

With just over 100 companies and government organizations represented and around 300 visitors, the Tax Stamp & Traceability Forum is a manageable event. The subject, however, is explosive: the focus of the fair, which takes place from May 16 to 18 in Malta, is the safe trade of excise goods such as tobacco, spirits, wine and beer. The forum offers an exchange between manufacturers of tax products and brands, traders, authorities and other stakeholders. It will cover topics such as the illicit trade in these products, national and international initiatives against it, various new technologies to enhance security and case studies.

New formats for tax stamps An important subject is certainly the extension of the labeling obligation as well as the new dimensional requirements for tax stamps. While revenue stamps were previously required in the 20x42mm format, they will have to be smaller, 12x32mm, from 2024.

This new format poses new challenges for printers, as the subsequent processing in particular will become complex. POLAR Mohr is presenting its so-called “Tax Label Solution” at the fair: The SC-25 cutter can cut the smallest formats from a size of 11×30 mm without any problems and also impresses with up to 26 cycles per minute, a extreme precision measuring system and a duo bander. POLAR Mohr is present at the show on stand E6.
