Return of a major show in Germany >> Scuttlebutt Sailing News
Everything is ready for the 2022 start of Düsseldorf with the next edition of the fair from January 22 to 30 at the exhibition grounds in Düsseldorf, Germany. The organizers expect more than 1,500 exhibitors from more than 50 countries, filling 17 exhibition halls and 220,000 square meters of exhibition space for water sports enthusiasts.
The organizer of the Messe Düsseldorf trade show had to cancel the Düsseldorf start for 2021 due to the ongoing pandemic and associated global lockdown measures. After initially postponing the world’s leading watersports show from January 23-31 to April 17-25, the focus has shifted to 2022.
“The international boat shows of the past few weeks have once again given the industry a strong tailwind,” said Wolfram Diener, President and CEO of Messe Düsseldorf. “The atmosphere at nautical shows and events such as Travemünder and Kieler Woche was fantastic. The athletes and the industry are just happy to be able to meet again. With the COVID 3G (vaccinated, tested or recovered) rule in force, nothing stands in the way of a successful start in Düsseldorf. ”
The majority of companies come from traditional maritime countries with large sailing and motor boat yards: Italy, followed by the Netherlands, France and Great Britain. Among countries outside Europe, the United States leads. Along with Egypt, Mauritius, Maldives, Madagascar, Indonesia and Palau, many popular and more distant dive destinations are returning. In total, manufacturers, destinations and retailers from 53 countries will participate.
