Twelfth Annual Jaffna International Trade Fair January 21-23

January 04, Colombo: The 12th edition of the Jaffna International Trade Fair (JITF 2022), the largest ever international trade fair and exhibition in northern Sri Lanka, will be held in the heart of Jaffna, the capital of the province of North, January 21, 22 and 23. .

The mega fair is organized by Lanka Exhibition & Conference Services (Pvt) Ltd (LECS), in association with the Yarlpanam Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCIY) and endorsed by the International Business Council, the Ministry of Industry and of Commerce and the Consulate General of India in Jaffna.

The Jaffna International Fair is the most anticipated platform for Small and Medium Entrepreneurs to present their products to the people of the North. Organizers of the event noted that traders experienced first-hand the potential the North has to offer.

The event is known to be a multi-trade affair featuring industries, products and services in agriculture, hospitality, education, food, machinery, construction, consumer, electronics and real estate.

The main sponsor of this year’s event will be Insee Cement, a proud stand holder for over a decade. Ruhunu Foods has signed up to become the official food partner of the event. The official telecommunications partner will be Mobitel (Pvt) Ltd. which has been part of the event for 12 consecutive years since 2010. The official partner for safety and health is Sun Match Company (Pvt) Ltd.

JITF provides an annual platform to reach a large part of the market in Jaffna, both consumers and businesses based in Jaffna and the north, visit the show during the three days, typically 40-50,000 visitors from various groups demographics visit the exhibit. The location of the event next to Jaffna Fort, allows maximum visibility for participants as stand holders.

JITF 2022 will see the launch of a program aimed at youth and young adults in Jaffna, aimed at empowering and inspiring young people towards personal development and entrepreneurship. The program will include knowledge sharing, skills development, mentoring forums, employment opportunities and networking opportunities for budding entrepreneurs.

The long-standing ‘Kalvi’ education pavilion will also feature many higher education institutions at the event in 2022.
