This year again, Expoalimentaria Perú (Peru Food Fair) takes place. The Peruvian Agri-Food Fair is organized by the Association of Peruvian Exporters (ADEX) and supported by Promperú. Just like in 2020 and due to the international situation, the most important food fair in Latin America and Peru is being held virtually.
Since last Thursday, September 30 and until October 8, agri-food professionals from all over the world will be able to get to know the 204 exhibiting companies, organize business meetings and attend the many events organized on the digital platform. An ambitious event, which brought together more than 500 buyers last year, generating more than two thousand business meetings.
This specialized fair, which is now in its third edition, acts as a promotional showcase for Peru’s export offer to the world. The main Peruvian products include superfoods such as quinoa, maca, chestnuts and sacha inchi as well as fresh produce such as mango, avocado, ginger, grapes and cranberries. Foods like cocoa and its derivatives, as well as processed products, fishery products and alcoholic beverages like pisco, the iconic national drink, complete the offer.
The event is also the ideal setting for exporters looking to gain a foothold in the Peruvian market. This year 37 American companies will be present at the event. The United States is the most important target market for Peruvian agri-food exports. Its value increased 7.9% in 2020 from the previous year, reaching $ 2.669 billion. Quinoa, maca, sacha inchi, and chestnuts are the most exported Peruvian superfoods to the United States.
