Cleaning of industrial parts: Strong growth in all areas
Source: Deutsche Messe
This year, parts2clean welcomed more than 2,300 visitors to the Stuttgart trade fair, armed with concrete tasks and projects. For the approximately 140 exhibitors from 16 different countries, this resulted in high-caliber leads that promised to translate into great follow-up business.
By the end of the third and final day of the 19th parts2clean, it was abundantly clear that industrial parts cleaning requirements are becoming increasingly diverse and demanding, with no end in sight. A major indicator was the tasks and projects that some 2,300 visitors (up around 15% from 2021) brought with them to Stuttgart. The share of trade fair attendees outside of Germany was 25%, with the strongest nations (excluding Germany) being Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and the Poland. “We are pleased with how this year’s parts2clean fair went under the current conditions,” said Hendrik Engelking, Global Director at Deutsche Messe. “Most important to us, however, is that the show attendance was worth it for our exhibitors.” And indeed, because most of the 140 exhibitors from 16 countries who presented their new, improved and established products and services for industrial room and surface cleaning on more than 4,300 square meters of exhibition space, were able to hold very detailed discussions. This was confirmed by Michael Höckh, Managing Director of Höckh Metall-Reinigungsanlagen: “For us it was an extremely interesting trade fair. Our visitors here were massively devoted to finding solutions for the projects they plan to implement in the near future. Often this means making replacement investments in order to meet higher cleanliness requirements.
Commercial audience with a high level of decision-making power and ready to invest
The fact that things were so concrete at parts2clean was due to the exceptionally high percentage of professional visitors (99%), of which more than 95% are involved in operational sourcing decisions. Another value that ensured exhibitor satisfaction at this year’s parts2clean was the investment plans, which were the deciding factor for around 85% of all attendees. This has facilitated a large number of promising leads, such as Dr.-Ing. Günther Schmauz, CEO of acp systems, says: “Although we still have some way to go to reach the number of visitors from the pre-Corona events, this year’s parts2clean went better than expected for us. This year, we have seen changes in the industries of our participants. For example, more than 80% of the discussions on our stand focused on tasks in the so-called high-purity area, for example in the semiconductor supplier industry, electronics, optics, medical technology, defense and sensors, as well as high-tech measurement technology. We were able to make really interesting contacts with domestic and foreign companies here.
Ronald Holzleitner, Head of New Business at Austrian Fronius International, also achieved his company’s trade fair objectives: “We met a highly qualified professional audience from different industries here, were able to present our technologies and products in an optimal after some excellent discussions, have already planned further talks. For Stefanie Borst from the management of Bo-Inno, parts2clean 2022 also went well: “We were very satisfied with our participation in the fair and had the impression that the discussions were even more concrete and intensive than in previous years. . It has become clear that many companies have to meet higher cleanliness requirements. This allowed us to make many new contacts, but we also took advantage of the fair to intensify our cooperation with our partners. This networking aspect was also appreciated by Chuck Sexton, Global Product Line Manager, Industrial at US cleaning products manufacturer Kyzen: “We can always generate top-notch leads at parts2clean. But the fair is also an excellent opportunity for us to establish new contacts with partners and to intensify existing ones.
Strong participation in the specialized forum and presentation of the first FiT2clean Awards
Once again this year, the specialized forum parts2clean was one of the poles of attraction for visitors. In simultaneously translated presentations (German English), experts from research, trade associations and industry provided information on a wide range of topics and trends in the field of industrial surface and room cleaning . The presentations were also streamed live on the parts2clean event website. “The overwhelming interest from on-site and online participants shows that there is a great need for information in the field of surface and room cleaning, whether for traditional tasks or new applications, and that the importance of component cleanliness as a product feature and quality factor will continue to grow,” adds Engelking.
Another highlight of parts2clean 2022 was the presentation of the FiT2clean award for outstanding achievement and solutions for a current challenge in industrial parts cleaning, which the Industrial Parts Cleaning Association (FiT) offered for the first time. The €10,000 prize was awarded to the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA) for its novel and unconventional approach of using liquid butane gas as an effective and energy-saving cleaning medium. energy. The FiT2clean award is planned for an annual presentation in the future.
It also illustrates how industrial parts cleaning faces an array of new tasks and challenges – which will be the focus of the 20th anniversary edition of parts2clean, taking place September 26-28, 2023 at the Parc des Stuttgart exhibitions. .
