Pitti Uomo made its triumphant return to a standalone in-person trade show this week.

Energy was high as many international buyers and the press were happy to be back at what was often their first time at the show since the pandemic began. At the show, held inside the city’s Fortezza da Basso, brands from around the world, including Brunello Cucinelli, Harrys London, Paraboot, Plus and more, showcased their footwear collections spring/summer 2023. Sneakers prevailed as the number one offering at this season’s show, but there was also a solid range of sandals and casual dress styles.

1. Brunello Cucinelli’s suede tassel loafers

After several years of growing and enhancing its footwear collection, Brunello Cucinelli is enjoying success in the category. Customers gravitate to the brand’s casual and dress shoe offerings, like these chocolate brown suede tassel loafers. Just like her ready-to-wear, these shoes can be dressed up at the weekend or worn to a cocktail party or to the office.

Pierre-Louis Mascia previewed his new collaboration with Diadora, slated for 2023. The two teamed up on a signature Diadora B560 style, which featured some of the French brand’s signature fabrics and prints. The French fashion label says it’s its first sneaker collaboration, and it’s partnering with its new sportswear capsule Vizir.

Harrys of London is under construction. The UK-based footwear and accessories brand is launching a new look, refined styles and an updated logo – minus the “de”. Officially launching later this year, the brand will now be known as Harrys London and will feature some of its best-selling styles alongside a new range of more contemporary styles developed by its new creative director. 6. Flower Mountain x Universal Works Slip-On Sneakers

The Japanese brand’s full line of hiking and outdoor-inspired shoes debuted in 2015. Identified by its thicker soles and floral details, this brand’s stand was not to be missed, as it was uninterrupted during the show. . These shoes featured above are part of Flower Mountain’s upcoming Spring 2023 collaboration with British brand Universal Works. The collaboration includes a range of apparel as well as several styles of footwear, including slip-on sneakers, lace-ups and sandals.

Paraboot has really beefed up its sandals and mules offering for Spring 2023. The French brand is launching this suede mule sandal next spring and shoppers are already picking it up. Other popular designs for next season are a pair of fisherman sandals as well as “Wallabee” style raffia shoes.

According to the company, the material works well for the spring/summer season as it allows more air to flow through the sneaker. What makes this brand interesting is that they make every model, shoe and apparel, like a blank white canvas. Each piece is then customized to match the theme of the season, or retail partners can create custom shoes or jackets just for their store – great appeal to retailers in competing markets.
