Tourism Malaysia participates in the SATTE fair

NEW DELHI, May 20, 2022: Tourism Malaysia attended India’s largest tourism trade show, South Asia’s Travel & Tourism Exchange (SATT) from May 18-20 to kick-start promotions after Malaysia reopened its borders on April 1st.

Tourism Malaysia aims to raise awareness of Malaysia as an ideal vacation destination and entice Indians to visit Malaysia again. In its 18th year, the three-day trade show attracted more than 35,000 travel executives and consumers.

Tourism Malaysia Vice President Dato’ Sri Dr Anil Jeet Singh Sandhu led the tourism delegation comprising 15 travel agents, three hotel operators, three product owners, three airline operators and a state tourism board.

“I am delighted to report that since the reopening of Malaysia’s international borders, India is among the top five source markets for tourists,” the Vice President of Tourism Malaysia told SATTE delegates. “A whole new Malaysia awaits you to be discovered. Genting SkyWorld, Southeast Asia’s most anticipated outdoor theme park, is finally open, while Penang has been listed on CNN’s Top Travel Destinations of 2022.

Malaysia has opened its coasts to quarantine-free travel and welcomes fully vaccinated international travelers. From May 1, 2022, fully vaccinated incoming travelers no longer need to undergo Covid-19 tests before departure or upon arrival. It also applies to children 12 years of age or younger. Currently, travelers can apply for the Malaysia eVisa.

More than 14,000 seats are bookable on flights between India and Malaysia on the websites of Malaysia Airlines, Malindo Air, AirAsia, IndiGo and Air India Express.
