The Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) will see business and entertainment collide as Bulawayo comedy merchants Umahlekisa Comedy Club will premiere Trade Fair Laughs at a yet to be announced venue.

The comedy show Trade Fair Laughs will coincide with Umahlekisa’s ninth anniversary in the comedy business, where a lot of diverse content is expected to air.

The country’s premier business event will run from April 26-30 under the theme: “Rethinking, Reimagining and Reinventing Value Chains for Economic Development.”

Umahlekisa Comedy Club director Ntando Van Moyo said the show will be one to watch as the lineup includes some of the country’s most sought-after comedians.

“Umahlekisa is known for leaving crowds in check and the trend will continue so people can expect a good show. The line-up consists of award-winning personnel who will bring to the table a diverse genre of comedy that crosses different genres. We have Ckanyiso Dat Guy from Harare, Carl Joshua Ncube, Maroosh and the event will be hosted by Mollet Ndebele,” Moyo said.

Moyo, who is also in charge of performing, said that since the comedy club will be celebrating nine years in the game, he will be hosting a roast for a prominent Bulawayo artistic personality next week on Saturday to spice things up.

“On April 30, we will roast a prominent artistic personality from Bulawayo. It’s gonna be a surprise. In May, we’re going to have a documentary series that will showcase what we’ve done over the years to celebrate our nine years in the comedy industry.

Carl Joshua Ncube, known for his Big Announcement show, expressed his readiness for the show.
