West Africa: Afro Food West Africa Trade Show Conference Launch
The seventh edition of the Agrofood West Africa Trade Fair conference was launched in Accra.
Scheduled between November 29 and December 1, the conference will be hosted by German trade show specialists Agrofood and Plastprintpack West Africa.
It will be held at the Accra International Conference Center and is expected to bring together exhibitors from 13 registered countries including; Ghana, France, Germany, Netherlands, Iran, Italy, Poland, Spain, Turkey, USA, South Africa, Egypt and Sri Lanka to showcase their products at the fair.
Launching the event in Accra on Tuesday, Fairtrade Managing Director Paul Marz said the aim of the fair was to create business partnerships and value between Ghanaian businesses and their international counterparts within the trade. the food and plastic packaging industry.
“The objective of the conference is to bring production to Ghana to improve production in Ghana so that Ghana becomes less dependent on food imports and produces more domestically,” he stressed.
Mr. Marz explained that the show will focus on food and plastics products as well as printing and packaging.
“We are going to have exhibitors from 13 countries around the world, showcasing their latest technology, the latest products from their respective countries across the food and agri-food value chain, from production, processing to the final product on the table and everything. what you need,” he said.
Shedding more light on the printing and packaging of plastics, Mr. Marz revealed that exhibitors in this space will be offered the opportunity to exhibit plastic raw materials, machinery for printing and labeling of plastic products.
The Director of Plant Protection, Protection and Regulatory Services of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Mr. Eric Quaye, congratulated Fairtrade for organizing the exhibition.
He explained that such events were very crucial for the policies of the ministry, adding that it was necessary to produce good quantities of food that needed to be further processed.
Mr. Quaye urged Ghanaian companies participating in the event to take full advantage of it and consolidate their businesses.
He pledged MoFA’s support to Fairtrade to ensure the success of the event.

The Agrofood & Plastprintpack West Africa 2022 is a collaboration between Fairtrade and the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA), Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI), Ghana Enterprise Agency Ghana (GEA) and the Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC).
The others are the Association of Industries of Ghana (AGI) and the Food and Beverage Association of Ghana (FABAG).
