Lossbourg, 23.11.2021

During formnext 2021, Arburg wowed trade visitors with many innovations for industrial additive manufacturing. Many international visitors also came to the world’s leading trade fair in Frankfurt to experience first-hand innovations and trends in the AM industry. Arburg’s international team of FA experts put on a solid show with InnovatiQ. The highlight was the world premiere of the high temperature Freeformer 300-3X, which processed medically approved PEEK granules to produce cranial implants.

“As the original exhibitor and member of the trade fair advisory board, we have been actively involved for years in making formnext the central meeting place of the AM world. We are delighted to have made a successful appearance at this year’s show despite a difficult environment, ”said Dr Christoph Schumacher, Marketing Manager at Arburg. “The prominent Arburg stand was visited by many international visitors who were very interested in our innovations and solutions for industrial additive manufacturing. Our experts participated in many interesting discussions and received interesting inquiries.

World first: reliable processing of PEEK granules

At formnext 2021, Arburg presented the world’s first high temperature Freeformer 300-3X, which transformed Evonik’s medically approved PEEK Vetakeep® i4G granule into cranial implants. The construction chamber of the machine can be heated to 200 degrees Celsius, and the plastic material up to 450 degrees Celsius. Visitors were also able to see for themselves how the process quality of medical technology products and other safety-related components can be reliably documented and 100% traced using the portal application. “ProcessLog” client.

Many fascinating application examples

Numerous products from MA practice have shown that Arburg Plastic Freeforming (APF) covers a wide range of applications – from absorbable implants and sophisticated PP components to complex hard / soft connections. Items such as flexibly adaptable operating equipment, electrically conductive components and soft shoe soles with a honeycomb structure were also on display. Flagship pieces from Freeformer’s world-renowned customers, such as custom baseball bats from US sporting goods manufacturer Wilson and ultra-fine adhesives from adhesive solutions expert tesa, were also well received. In addition to the Freeformer exhibitions in Arburg, the innovatiQ portfolio was also on display at the stand. From December 1, the two divisions will be merged under the leadership of Dr Victor Roman into a new subsidiary, ARBURGadditive GmbH + Co KG.

Large stand, major innovations, great interest: the world’s leading trade fair in 2021 was a complete success for Arburg.
