Zhejiang International Trade Expo and Export Fair kicks off in Hanoi | Company

Hanoi (VNA) – The Chinese province of Zhejiang has opened its international trade exhibition and 10th Hanoi Export Fair on September 28.

The events take place at
International Exhibition Center in Hoan Kiem District by Zhejiang Department of Commerce, Yuanda International Exhibition Co. Ltd and Vietnam National Trade Fair & Advertising Company (VINEXAD).

The exhibition includes 130 booths with more than 100 exhibitors, displaying hardware products and machinery; textiles, clothing and materials; indoor and outdoor furniture; electronic; and home appliances.

It also includes various side events, such as an e-commerce seminar; a symposium on promoting international trade and the Vietnam-China business matchmaking model; and a test bike ride.

Addressing the opening ceremony via video conference, Yuanda general manager Chen Cui said the export fair is one of the largest and oldest events held independently by Zhejiang in the world. ‘ASEAN, adding that it has moved from the in-person format to a hybrid format to continually help foster the province’s economic and trade ties with Vietnam.

To Ngoc Son, deputy director of the Asia-Africa markets department at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said the
Zhejiang Export Fair has become an important trade promotion activity, helping to strengthen economic and trade ties between Vietnam and China, including Zhejiang.

He noted that despite the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and global geopolitical uncertainties, the two countries’ trade still grew last year by 25 percent from 2020 to reach $166.4 billion. The figure stood at USD 117.3 billion in the first eight months of 2022, up 10.79% from a year earlier.

China remains Vietnam’s largest trading partner. It ranks first among exporters to and second among importers of products from Vietnam, he said, adding that trade promotion activities like the Zhejiang fair are important to support the growth of bilateral trade./ .
